Biography

Alexandros Moustakas

I was born in Athens surrounded by art.   I had the good fortune to have as parents the sculptor, Vaggelis Moustakas, my father and the poetess, Zoe Savina, my mother.   From a young age I began to express my creativity by constructing games and early structures as I rummaged around in my father’s workshop.    My daily contact with art resulted in my need to express myself artistically.  I studied at the School of Fine Arts of Athens (1990-1995) and graduated with honors.  During that period of time, I studied at the workshops of Dimosthenis Kokkinidis and Dimitris Mitaras. I studied engraving with Yiannis Papadakis and took sculpture lessons from Stavros Balasakis, while parallel to these, I was also learning at the side of the sculptor (also my father) Evangelos Moustakas.   My works are to be found in museums as well as in public and private spaces. With my drawings I have also done the artwork for many literary magazines and books.  I am a member of the Fine Arts Chamber of Athens.
